Our group is situated within a larger community of researchers striving to better understand and improve our relationships with microbiomes.
The Microbes and Social Equity working group was formed in 2019 to examine, publicize and promote a research program on the reciprocal impact of social inequality and microbiomes, both human and environmental. The group is comprised of researchers around the globe at all stages of career and with various specialties.
PreMiEr is a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded Engineering Research Center (ERC) headquartered at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, USA. Other partners include North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T), North Carolina State University (NCSU), the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH), and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC-C), as well as members of industry and other educational institutions.
